I'm already thinking about my veggie garden for 2010

Well, it's January and I'm already thinking about what I will plant this spring in my vegetable garden. Last year's garden was such a success that I want to get a head start on planning for this year. The seed catalogs started arriving after Thanksgiving, and now I actually have time to read them and find some good gardening ideas from the books at the library.

Here are a few gardening books I am currently reading:

"Green Gardener's Guide" by Joe Lamp'l

"The Frugal Gardener: How To Have More Garden For Less Money" by Catriona Tudor Erler

  2. Woohoo! I am with you, super excited. Last summers garden was just outstanding!! We'll be starting our seedlings the end of next month. Window sills and back yard green houses will be full before we know it.

I had a lot of success with companion plantings and compost. We attracted a lot of beneficial insects and used no pesticide! The library has great books on those subjects as well.

    Thanks for sharing the enthusiasm.

  3. I have always wanted to grow a successful garden. I have tried a couple of times, but was disappointed with the results. Perhaps if I start planning now, I will have a better chance of succeeding. Thank you for the inspiration. I think I'll go place some gardening books on hold now.
